Not a course. Not a chatbot.
A working horticulturist on the line.

A monthly relationship with the team that designs Blueprints and walks Pittsburgh yards. Three lanes, one inbox: Josie leads as your garden consultant, Jordan answers build questions, Justin signs off on every IPM recommendation. Same horticulturist every month, every photo, every text.

01

Monthly garden consultation

30-minute scheduled call a month — your garden consultation with Josie. Walk her through the garden on video, what's flowering, what's failing, what's next. Jordan rotates in for the month you're asking build or structural questions. Recording in your inbox within a couple business days.

02

Direct text line

Text the team for the in-the-moment questions. Bug on the basil, wilt on a tomato, frost in the forecast. Same-day response April through October. Off-season: inside two business days.

03

Four seasonal planning sessions

Spring start, summer mid-course, fall transition, winter plan. Four real planning sessions a year on top of your monthly call. Not a newsletter.

04

Photo-based pest + disease diagnosis

Send a photo of the problem. Josie names what it is and what caused it. Treatment recommendations come from Justin, our PA-licensed pesticide applicator, before they reach you. No forum threads, no Reddit guesses.

— Who hires a garden consultant

Three kinds of gardener. Same horticulturist.

Grow isn't a beginner product or an expert product. It's a garden coach for whoever you actually are — and the conversation usefully changes shape as your garden does.

First-season gardeners

You've got beds, soil, plants. You don't yet have a calendar in your head. Grow gives you the planting dates, the harvest cues, and the someone-to-text when half your seedlings collapse in week three.

Build & Blueprint clients past their first season

Every Build includes one season of mentorship. Every Blueprint includes 30 days of email Q&A. When that runs out and you'd otherwise go searching for a garden coach near me — you stay with the team that already knows your garden.

Experienced gardeners who keep losing in July

You've grown for years. You still lose the second-half-of-summer crops every year. A coach pays for itself the first time the team diagnoses what's eating the squash.

— Why Grow exists

A garden coach. A garden consultant. Same person.

The reason most second-season gardens fail isn't the soil or the seeds — it's that there's no one to text when half the seedlings drop leaves in week three. Grow is the team on the line from April through October. Not a course, not a forum, not a chatbot.

What's the difference between a garden coach and a garden consultant? Mostly the conversation. A consultation is the moment you stop guessing and ask somebody who actually does this for a living what the answer is. Garden coaching is what happens when that becomes a relationship — month after month, photo after photo, the same horticulturist on the line.

We don't run garden coaching by content marketers and contractors. We run it by Josie — a working horticulturist with a real production garden in Western Pennsylvania. The first time a tomato wilts overnight, you send a photo. Same day, you get an answer. Not a forum thread. Not a chatbot. The horticulturist.

"The hard parts of a garden are not planting. The hard parts are watering in July, knowing when to pull a crop, and reading the bug before it becomes a problem."
— Josie · Lead horticulturist
— Why a working horticulturist matters

Most online garden services don't have one.

Search "horticulturist consultant" and you'll find content marketers, course salespeople, and contractors with nice photos. Search "garden coach near me" and you'll find the same — plus a wall of Thumbtack and Angi listings.

A working horticulturist is different. Josie is different. She knows what San Marzano does in Zone 6b clay versus what it does in a balcony container in St. Louis — because she's grown both. When you text her about leaf curl, the answer comes from somebody who's watched leaf curl happen in actual dirt this year.

Vego sells beds. Yardzen designs ornamental yards. None of them have a publicly named horticulturist on the line. We do. That's the difference between a garden coaching subscription and a garden consultant you can actually trust to know your zone.

Josie leads Grow.

Josie is GardenSoon's working horticulturist. Most online garden services are run by content marketers and contractors. We're a vegetable garden business led by a real horticulturist with a real production garden in Western Pennsylvania. She designs every Blueprint, walks every Pittsburgh yard that needs design input, leads every Grow account, and reviews and signs off on every customer-facing recommendation across the company before it ships — Jordan's build answers, Justin's IPM treatment notes, the photo diagnoses that come back to your inbox. The horticulturist is on every recommendation, even the ones she didn't draft.

"Every Grow recommendation runs past me before it reaches the customer — Jordan's build answers, Justin's treatment notes, the photo diagnoses. One horticulturist signs every line."
— Josie · Lead horticulturist

Grow is capped — the team only takes as many monthly clients as it can actually answer same-day in season. When the roster is full, the page says so.

— Grow FAQ

The honest answers.

Before you start, here's what people usually want to know.

What does a garden consultant do?

A garden consultant is somebody who actually does this for a living, telling you in 45 minutes what to plant, when, and what to skip. Not a course. Not a PDF. A conversation. A garden consultation with Josie covers your zone, your space, your soil, your sun, the varieties that actually work where you live, the calendar that maps to your last frost — and the two mistakes you're about to make. Then she gets off the call and you go plant tomatoes. With Grow, that conversation becomes monthly: same garden coach, same horticulturist, every month through the season. $99/month. Cancel any month.

How is Grow different from a one-time Blueprint?

A Blueprint is a deliverable — bed layout, plant list, planting calendar, typically delivered in 7–14 days. Grow is the ongoing relationship. The Blueprint tells you what to plant; Grow keeps Josie on the line through the months you're growing it, with Jordan available for build/structural questions and Justin's PA pesticide license backing any treatment recommendation. Most Grow clients have a Blueprint already; some don't.

Do I need to be in Pittsburgh for Grow?

No. Grow runs over video, email, and text — works anywhere in the US, for any space. Yards, balconies, indoor hydroponic setups, rooftops, urban small-space gardens — if Josie can see it on video, she can coach it. Pittsburgh Build clients often add Grow once their included first-season mentorship ends. Blueprint clients in any zone stack Grow on top of their plan from day one. Same team every month: Josie leads, Jordan rotates in for build/structural questions, Justin signs off on any IPM recommendation.

What's the contract for $99/month Grow?

One month at a time. $99/month, charged monthly, cancel any month by email. No annual lock-in, no early-termination fee, no contract to sign. If a month goes by unused, you can pause or cancel — your call. Grow is capped to the number of clients the team can answer same-day.

What does Grow actually answer?

Plant problems by photo, pest ID, watering questions, when-to-transplant calls, soil amendments, variety substitutions when the nursery is out, whether to pull a crop or wait. Build/structural questions go to Jordan — should you add a third bed, does the slope need terracing, how deep on a clay site. Pest and disease photos go to Josie first, then to Justin (PA-licensed pesticide applicator) for the treatment recommendation. Same-day responses April through October.

Who answers when I text the line?

Josie is the lead and reviews every customer-facing recommendation before it ships, regardless of who drafted it. Plant and design questions go to her directly. Build and structural questions route to Jordan and come back through Josie's review. Pest and disease diagnosis is photo-based: Josie names what it is, then Justin — our PA-licensed pesticide applicator — signs off on the treatment recommendation before it reaches you. One team, one inbox, three lanes.

What's NOT included in Grow?

Build labor (Pittsburgh-only Build service). New full Blueprints ($399 one-time). Soil testing fees, plant or material purchases, irrigation parts. Pesticide application — Justin signs off on the recommendation, but you or your local applicator do the spraying. Grow is the team's time and expertise, not a fulfillment service. If a Grow conversation surfaces a real design overhaul, Josie credits a portion of your Grow months toward a new Blueprint.

Can I pause Grow for the winter?

Yes, but most clients don't. The off-season is when next year's garden gets planned — seed orders, bed amendments, new beds, layout changes. Winter Grow calls are short and high-leverage. To pause, email Josie and she stops billing until you restart. Twelve months of planning support per year is the design.

— Service trinity
Three ways to work with us.

Design is the one-time plan (Strategy Session $99 or Blueprint $399). Grow is the ongoing relationship — Josie, Jordan, Justin on the line. Build is the Pittsburgh install. Most clients use one. Some use two. A few use all three.
